Accommodations and lodging

Where would you like to be in France?

In a beautiful, scenic setting? In an historical building with charm? In the center of town within walking distance of shops and restaurants, accessible to roads and rail?

In France, a wide array of lodging is available. Terms such as Gîte, Chambre d'hôte, Auberge and Pension may be new to you. We can help you choose accommodations to suit your taste.

Perhaps you would like to stay as guests in a family home on a "bed and breakfast" basis. This is a very popular option with the French when they travel on vacation. France has a wide choice to offer, ranging from gracious 18th-century chateaus to farmhouses.

Why not book a Gîte? That's what the French call a vacation cottage offering accommodation for couples and family groups. These self-catering cottages give you your own space to relax and unwind. They provide a base for coming and going as you please, and offer cooking facilities so you can prepare your own meals when you want. Minimum booking - one week.

NOTE: The important thing when you come to visit France is to appreciate the differences compared with the accommodation available in America, Australia and Canada. Generally the rooms are smaller and older and the culture is not as geared to amenities. Not all
